Minority Advocacy Associations Meet with JPS and Broaddus-LeVis

Minority Advocacy Associations Meet with JPS and Broaddus-LeVis to Learn About Contract Opportunities on the JPS Bond Program.

JPS Health Network and program manager Broaddus-LeVis are committed to ensuring Minority, Women, and Veteran-owned Business Enterprise (MWVBE) participation in the network’s $800 million bond program by meeting firms where they are: minority advocacy organizations.

Minority advocacy organizations serve as a hub and resource to minority communities. JPS and Broaddus-LeVis work with a number of these organizations to help connect directly with MWVBEs in Tarrant County. One outreach effort the bond management team is making is scheduling virtual presentations with the organizations to share information about the Bond Program with their members. These organizations include the National Association of Minority Contractors–Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter, the Regional Hispanic Contractors Association, the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Asian American Contractors & Professional Association, and more.

Members have an opportunity to learn about the JPS Bond Program, how to register as a JPS vendor, upcoming RFQ/RFP opportunities, the MWVBE program, and how to stay in the know about the Bond Program. The presentations are conducted by JPS and the Broaddus-LeVis team, which offers members a chance to meet them and ask questions.

Several presentations took place during February, including an event hosted by the National Association of Minority Contractors–Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter during their Monthly Opportunity Meeting on February 8, 2022. More than 50 people attended virtually and in-person.

Upcoming organizations holding meetings include the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce on February 25, and the Regional Black Contractors Association on February 28.

These are the first of many meetings planned with minority advocacy organizations, as well as outreach events that will take place as the bond program progresses.
