Psychiatric Emergency Center Gears Up for September Opening.
Excitement is building at JPS Health Network as construction has finished and we are preparing to open the new Psychiatric Emergency Center (PEC) on the JPS Health Network campus on September 17. This facility marks a significant milestone in the Master Facility Plan, expanding access to critical behavioral health services across Tarrant County.

What the PEC Will Offer
24/7 Behavioral Health Care: The PEC will open around the clock to serve adults and adolescents facing severe mental health emergencies.
Expanded Capacity: The state-of-the-art, ~80,000-square-foot facility will increase capacity—tripling patient care spaces.
Convenient Location: Built on the southwest side of the Main Campus, adjacent to Trinity Springs Pavilion, patients and families will benefit from a ground-level, easily accessible location (unlike the current 10th-floor site). First responders will also have a separate entrance providing a safer, private experience for patients and responders alike.
Community-Driven Design: Every aspect—from structural layout to tranquil aesthetics—reflects a thoughtful approach to calming an inherently stressful experience.
Why This Matters
As the only PEC in Tarrant County and one of the busiest emergency psychiatric centers in the U.S., JPS is responding to a clear and critical community need. The new facility is a beacon of hope, safety, and dignity for individuals and families navigating mental health crises.
Gearing Up for Opening
With September 17 fast approaching, final preparations are underway. JPS invites you to stay tuned for updates. We will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony soon!
